Experimental Glaze

From 1925 to 1928 Arthur Baggs worked in the Marblehead “off season” with R. Guy Cowan at Cowan Pottery Studio in Cleveland, Ohio.  During that time, Baggs began working with blue  and green high gloss glazes such as Persian blue.  When Marblehead pieces were produced using these glazes, the pieces were often described as having an “experimental glazes.”
